Ahead of his debut in director Kathryn Bigelow’s upcoming film about the 1967 Detroit race riot, Algee Smith has signed to top US talent agents CAA - home to A-listers including Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Meryl Streep.

The 22 year old American star was cast as leading role in Oscar winner Bigelow’s project - her first film since 2012's Zero Dark Thirty - and Smith's performance alongside John Boyega, Jack Reynor and Will Poulter is already creating buzz. The rising star previously featured in Earth to Echo and BET's miniseries The New Edition Story.
